Rob Lowe
Rob graduated in computing in 1983 and fast became recognised within the IT industry for his all-round knowledge and strategic vision. Rob has been instrumental in the merger and acquisition process of major global organisations, and been at the helm of some of the most innovative technological companies including Vodafone, Motorola and Psion. Rob has also spearheaded a number of government technology improvements including those at DWP, Companies House and HM Customs, where he was responsible for the delivery of all Projects and Programmes of work as a member of the tactical delivery board. Rob has also worked on government communications protocols and at a company where the first Internet search engine called ALIWEB was produced.
The views Rob has and his innovative approach to life was recognised not only by technological organisations, but also by the Eccentric Club of Great Britain by awarding Rob ‘Great British Eccentric of the Year 2009’ in April 2009 in recognition of his first book publication ‘A True British Eccentric’, an account of hilarious predicaments, affection for groundbreaking technology and an account of his epic bicycle ride around the whole coastline of Great Britain. The Eccentric Club, originally established in 1781, are proud to have HRH Prince Philip as their patron. Rob is equally proud to be associated with the Eccentric Club that is a long-established and reputable brand, and whose past and present members are amongst those who have helped to shape British culture into what it is today.
